The canvases represents my celebration on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the UAE, Representing how I see the fifty-year journey between the past, present, and the future. The idea that inspired me came from my desire to tell a story, where I create a scene that blends my geometric style, the illusion using colors, and yet honoring the past, in a modern style. I aimed to capture the heritage, the architecture, the development and the future vision. I wanted to create a watch/canvas that combines color harmony, solidity in geometric representation, while sensing the spirit of heritage by adding popular symbols that signify the merge of old traditions with modernism.
The art work and the Swatch Watches were exhibited at Alserkal Avenue in Warehouse 82. The Exhibition celebrating a decade of the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Shanghai residency in collaboration with Alserkal Advisory.
