Blood News is a performative exploration of the relentless bombardment of news media and its profound effects on both the body and psyche. Through interaction with newspapers, carefully selected pages blacked out to reveal only recurring keywords, discarded papers crushed into balls, and the symbolic use of red pigment, I engage with the cycles of repetition, erasure, and sensationalism that characterize today’s media landscape. This work reflects on how overwhelming flows of information can numb our emotional responses and obscure the human trauma beneath headlines. Blood News invites viewers to consider the politics of visibility and forgetting, and to reconnect with the embodied experience of news as lived trauma.
